The Gujarat Upper Secondary and Secondary Education Board, GSHSEB, has published the GSEB SSC Result 2020 on the official website gseb.org. The results are now available at the direct links provided below. Up to 10.83 lakh students have appeared for the SSC exams taken in March 2020. The pass rate recorded this year is 60.64%. The results of HSC Arts & Commerce 2020 would now be published by the board. It is expected to be published before June 15, when the admission process for undergraduate universities in the state would begin. However, there are no board updates regarding the same.
GSEB SSC Outcome 2020: key aspects
GSEB SSC was held from March 5 to 17.
Up to 10.83 lakh students have turned up for this year's exams. The approval percentage was registered at 60.64%.
Of the total 10.83 lakh students, 8.40 lakh were regular students and 2.25 lakh were students who repeated the exam this year.
Surat has the best SSC result with 94.66% pass rate. Ahmedabad has recorded a result of 64.91% and Rajkot has a result of 64.08%.
Of the total number of schools, 291 schools have registered a result of 100 percent. In other words, all students in schools have passed their GSEB SSC 2020 exams.
174 schools have recorded a result of 0 percent.
1,671 students scored above the 90th percentile.
Medium wise, medium English schools have performed better with an overall passing rate of 86.75%, followed by medium Hindi with 63.94%. Gujarati middle schools had the worst passing rate of 57.54%.
GSEB SSC Result 2020: Approval Criteria, Percentile Calculation, and Percentages
Students must earn a total score of 33 percent in each subject to pass the GSEB SSC exam. In the exams, 30 marks are internal and 70 are from the boards. The student is required to obtain an aggregate score of 33 percent in the subject (internal and external). In the event that a student fails to do so, he / she would be eligible to sit for the improvement exams. The schedule for the same would be announced on the official website gseb.org in due course.
Since 2011, GSEB publishes the percentile rank for GSEB SSC exams. The percentile rank simply indicates your position in the total number of students who took that exam. To understand it better, let's say 100 students have appeared for the GSEB SSC exams and their percentile rank is 80. This means that it is ahead of 79 students and behind 20.
As for how to calculate the percentage, your GSEB SSC Result 2020 score sheet would also have the individual scores. To calculate your percentage, simply add the score of the 5 subjects and divide by 5.
