How the race order will be established for Saturday's Vet Tix Camping World 200 truck series race
The NASCAR Truck Series returns for its second race of the season restarted, Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway. We take a look at how the race order is determined for the Vet Tix Camping World 200.
NASCAR returns to action this Saturdat at Atlanta Motor Speedway for a quick two-day race. The Series Cup race is on Sunday, but on Saturday it brings a double header of trucks and cars. The Gander RV & Outdoors Truck series is running the Vet Tix Camping World 200 at 1 p.m. ET at FSI, and the Xfinity series runs the EchoPark 250 at 4:30 p.m. on FOX.
This is the second race in the truck series since Kyle Busch won the Strat 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on February 21. He finished second last week in the NC Education Lottery 200, behind Chase Elliott.
NASCAR will not hold traditional qualifying races during the Talladega races on June 20-21. To reduce events and try to protect health and safety, the Series Cup, Xfinity and Truck are using random draws connected to the point ranking. The Truck Series will use a process similar to the Cup Series, randomly drawing from three groups to discover points 1-10, 11-21 and 22-32. This is how the starting grid will be determined for the Vet Tix Camping World 200 on Saturday
Positions 1-10: Random draw of teams in those positions in Owner Points
Positions 11-21: Random draw of teams in those positions in owner points
Positions 22-32: Random draw of teams in those positions in owner points
Vehicles that are eligible for the Event in 33rd to 40th place will be assigned starting positions according to their order of eligibility.
The draw has Christian Eckes in pole position, followed by Tyler Ankrum, Brett Moffitt and Austin Hill. DraftKings Sportsbook has installed Kyle Busch as a favorite at -143, followed by Chase Elliott at +350. There is a sizable drop from there, with Ross Chastain at +1400 and Brett Moffitt at +1600.
